Syndicated widgets

A syndicated widgets lets you use the functionality, including accessing your RightNow knowledge base, of a customer portal widget on web pages other than customer portal pages. Syndicated widgets include the following.

The syndicated widgets are generated with simple JavaScript code that can be placed within another web page. You can configure the widgets by modifying the JavaScript or by using the tag gallery to define the configuration options and settings.

The widgets can be completely styled with CSS. The usage and reporting are available through the standard RightNow Analytics tool. You can review the settings and descriptions of syndicated widgets through your site’s tag gallery at http://[your_site]/ci/admin.

The CSS for the syndicated widgets is in the /euf/assets/syndicated_widgets/standard folder.

The Syndicated Knowledge widget fires the event called evt_dataRequest and is subscribed to evt_searchResponse and evt_searchRequest events. These events are useful especially if you want the Syndicated Proactive Chat and Syndicated Knowledge widgets to interact with each other within the same page. Additional events can also be fired: evt_chatOfferRequest, evt_chatAvailabilityRequest, evt_beforeDataRequest, and evt_dataRequest.
