System Specifications for RightNow Service 6.0 and RightNow Outbound 6.0 on UNIX
RightNow Service 6.0 and RightNow Outbound 6.0 (RightNow 6.0) can be installed on UNIX operating systems, supporting MySQL and Oracle databases. The listed hardware specifications are meant to be a guide to help you define the hardware necessary for satisfactory performance. The listed software specifications for operating systems and database managements systems (DBMS) are strict requirements for the proper operation of RightNow 6.0. The listed workstation and Web browser specifications are recommendations for the best operation of RightNow 6.0. Any operating systems, DBMSs, Web servers, and Web browsers not specifically listed in this chapter are not supported by RightNow Technologies.
Hardware Recommendations
The minimum recommended server and client hardware for RightNow 6.0 and higher include:

Workstation operating systems
RightNow 6.0 agent and administrative functions are best performed on workstations running either Windows 2000 Professional or XP Professional operating systems.
Web browsers
RightNow 6.0 is best viewed with the Web browsers listed in the following table. Using versions of Internet Explorer, Netscape, Safari, or other Web browsers that are not listed in this table may result in improper functioning of certain features of RightNow 6.0.

For optimum viewing of RightNow 6.0, it is required that you configure the display properties of your workstation to display a minimum screen area of 1024 by 768 pixels with the Small Fonts or "normal size" (96 dpi) font size setting; however, for ease of use it is recommended that you use the largest screen area possible. The text size setting in your browser must be set to "medium" or smaller.
RightNow 6.0 also requires that the following workstation Web browser security options be set to Enable or Prompt:
- Download signed ActiveX controls
- Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins
These settings are enabled under the default medium security settings.

The RightNow Live module has specific software requirements in addition to the specifications of RightNow 6.0.
