What is the RightNow Error Reporting Service?

In the event that an application error occurs within the RightNow application, a dialog will be presented to the user prompting whether the user wishes to inform RightNow of the error.

The RightNow Error Reporting Service is invoked if the user presses the Send Information to RightNow button.

How is information collected?

When the Send Information to RightNow button is pressed, information about the error is collected and transmitted across the Internet to a website that is maintained by RightNow for the specific purpose of collecting information about errors that occur within RightNow's products.

Why is information collected?

RightNow Technologies continuously strives to improve the quality of its products. RightNow will use the information collected to investigate and fix application errors. By providing an automatic way for users to report errors, RightNow can resolve issues in future releases without burdening users with manual error reporting.

What information is collected?

Each error report contains:

• The name of the software exception that you encountered.
• The error message displayed on the RightNow error dialog box.
• The name of the RightNow interface that you are logged into.
• The build version of the RightNow software you are using.
• A stack trace of the thread where the error occurred. This includes information about the source of the error, such as whether or not it originated in our software.

Who has access to the information and how can it be used?

Authorized RightNow Employees, contractors, vendors or partners will be granted access to the data for the sole purpose of investigating errors and improving RightNow's products. RightNow Technical Support will NOT be notified of the specific error you encounter. If you require immediate remediation or assistance, please include screen shots of the error received in a support incident submitted to RightNow Technical Support.
