The new offering is based on RightNow's enterprise-class, on demand solution for service, sales and marketing. RightNow Consumer Electronics is pre-configured with industry best practices that can help consumer electronic and high tech appliance manufacturers deliver excellent experiences to end consumers before, during, and after a purchase. For example, the new offering helps companies present relevant product information to consumers before they make a purchase and extends to provide service, such as product registration, after they've bought a product. In addition to facilitating both pre- and post-sales support, RightNow Consumer Electronics also helps companies' measure customer loyalty and satisfaction with their brands by collecting feedback throughout the entire customer life cycle.
The solution is available under RightNow's software-as-a-service delivery model, which allows organizations to implement quickly – on average, within 45 to 60 days – without making extensive investments in infrastructure or burdening IT staff.
Before making a purchase, savvy consumers typically begin researching products at a manufacturer's web site. Whether they head to a retail store or click to another web site to buy something, consumers' initial contact with the manufacturer can significantly influence their purchasing decisions. In fact, 68 percent of consumers visit a manufacturer's web site to research a digital camera or television purchase before visiting a retail location, and consumers who have visited a manufacturer's site, typically spend ten percent more when making an in store purchase than consumers who have done no web research.1 Also, according to the July 2007 Forrester report "Must-Haves for Manufacturer Web Sites," visitors to manufacturer's web sites have a high intent to purchase: 16 percent plan to make a purchase immediately, 14 percent within 48 hours and 18 percent within a week.
The new RightNow Consumer Electronics solution helps manufacturers maximize the first interaction with a consumer, before a retailer is involved or a sale is made. To do this, RightNow enables manufacturers to take dynamic content from their RightNow knowledgebase, such as frequently asked questions, product specifications and warranty information, and make it available on specific product pages.
"With RightNow Consumer Electronics, we've taken our experience with industry leaders and created a pre-configured product that can help consumer electronics and high tech appliance manufactures very quickly enhance and maximize their interactions with end consumers, reinforce their brands and ultimately drive sales," said David Vap, vice president of products at RightNow. "Whether a consumer wants to research a purchase or ask a question about service, RightNow Consumer Electronics is designed to help manufacturers deliver exceptional experiences to each and every consumer regardless of how the customer contacts the company."
