Already the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere, the Haitian people are desperately in need of help after the devastating earthquake. In response, RightNow has extended our charitable donation matching program for employee donations to Haiti earthquake relief organizations. I encourage all of you to help in whatever way you can as well.
A few examples of groups providing aid to the earthquake victims:
- The American Red Cross is working with its partners in the global Red Cross and Red Crescent network, including the Haitian Red Cross, to provide food, water, temporary shelter, medical services and emotional support.
- Oxfam is rushing in teams to provide clean water, shelter, sanitation and to help people recover.
- Doctors Without Borders is on the ground and has set up clinics to treat the injured.
- UNICEF has issued a statement that “Children are always the most vulnerable population in any natural disaster, and UNICEF is there for them.”
As an Account Manager with RightNow, I have the unique opportunity to work with many different RightNow clients, spanning multiple industries. This week alone, three RightNow customers explained to me their involvement in the relief efforts in Haiti. As an employee of RightNow, there is nothing more satisfying than hearing from customers about the ways they are helping Rid the World of Bad Experiences. From flying to Haiti to help on the ground, to making considerable monetary contributions, I am proud of each of the clients I work with and thier vested interest in helping others. Another clear example of Ridding the World of Bad Experiences.

As RightNow’s HR Coordinator, I have been receiving all of the requests for matching donations from our employees. It is truly heartening to see the awesome response we have had in just a week! We’ve received requests for matching from employees in all of our locations – from North America to Australia to the UK. Employees have expressed to me how thankful they are to work for an employer that values people and is generous enough to contribute to a good cause.
